Rock Snot

A humourous sign about a not so humourous problem invading our waterway’s.  I found this in Fish Creek Park, Calgary, Alberta.  To learn more about Didymosphenia geminata visit www.outdoorcanada.ca

Sharing, it’s not just for kindergarten

A couple of weekends ago I helped  the Calgary Horticultural Society with their annual fall plant share, where everyone and anyone can bring surplus plants to trade or donate to other members.  What a great way of spreading the wealth of species in the gardens within and around our city.  I have had the pleasure of viewing other great blogs by ever-so-gifted people since I have discovered WordPress.  This week I returned to my corporate career and am preparing my garden for renewal.  I am not outside every day, and I miss it ROTTEN!  I was hoping that visitors to my blog would perhaps share something that is a favorite image, meaningful experience (or not!), or a great garden tip from this past summer as a sort of fall sharing event.  I only ask that it be related to horticulture or an outdoor adventure and you keep in mind that my Gravatar and blog are a PG rating! Today I am going to break from horticulture and share an achingly beautiful sunset I shot at Glenmore reservoir, in SW Calgary, AB.  I hope you enjoy the photos and I am looking forward to opening up my blog this weekend and see how many people were willing to share………..  Next post we will explore pumpkins, squash, falling leaves and other things fall but for now, here’s my farewell to summer 2012.
